As of Sunday, October 6th, the mountain is closed for regular summer operations to begin preparations for winter, including access to hiking and mountain biking trails.
Sundance offers over 20 miles of alpine trails for the beginner to the expert hiker. Take a casual lift ride up the mountain and enjoy a scenic trail back to the base.
All our hikes begin within the resort & require use of our chair lifts to access the trail heads. Our lifts begin spinning at 10am during the summer time. Please purchase your lift tickets in advance online.
Please stay on designated trails, practice ‘Leave No Trace’ principles while hiking, carry water to hydrate, & consider the weather forecast before departing.

Discover Sundance like never before on our brand-new 1.75-mile Bearclaw Summit trail! This hike offers unobstructed views of Cascade Mountain & a fresh perspective on our summer landscape.
From the trail map sign at the top of Red’s Lift to Dry Lakes, hikers will drop into Slide Canyon and wind into Hill’s Headwall and Corkscrew trees. This trail is intended for uphill and downhill use.
This is a moderate hike that is ~1.75 miles and will take ~45 minutes to 1 hours to complete.
Lift tickets are required for this hike.
Please be aware that you will experience fast-moving water, snow fields, and steep terrain on this trail.
Enjoy one of Sundance’s most popular hikes through mountain forests and meadow to the falls. Named after the Stewart Family who were the original settlers and homesteader in the North Fork Canyon. Walk along a moderate trail with amazing views of the Timpanogos Mountain Range. You will see first‐hand the destructive powers of avalanches and their impact on the area. Stewart Falls is the midway point on this hike and is a great spot to snap some photos. You can feel the cool mist of the falls as you approach it from several hundred yards away!
Intermediate Hike that is ~3 miles and will take ~2.5 hours to complete, including lift ride.

Enjoy one of our brand-new trails and experience Sundance like you never have before! Begin your climb up until reaching the summit and receiving your reward, beautiful panoramic views only accessible by hiking. Continue down through untouched terrain and a completely new area of Sundance.
Beginner Hike that is ~1.5 miles and will take ~1.5 hours to complete, including lift ride.
Lift tickets are required for this hike.
Learn about the history of Sundance and abundant plant communities, wildlife, and geology while hiking on our single-track trails! Your guide will talk about the geology of Mount Timpanogos and how it relates to the history of Utah and the shape of this canyon. Learn about the reasons why there are such contrasting variations in plant life on the mountain. The goal for this hike is for you to gain a greater appreciation for the natural beauty that Sundance has to offer. Good sturdy hiking shoes are recommended for this trip. Snowfields are possible in springtime.
Reservations are required by 5pm the evening prior for all guided hikes.
