Sundance, UT (August 21, 2024) — Sundance Resort’s The Tree Room and The Owl Bar have received top recognition in USA Today’s 10Best Readers Poll. The Tree Room was voted as the #3 Hotel Restaurant, and The Owl Bar was voted as the #3 Hotel Bar in North America. Originally nominated by a panel of industry experts and editors at USA Today, these establishments competed with 20+ other restaurants and bars for the “10Best” title.

“The Tree Room has been in business for 54 years at Sundance Resort, and to be nominated by industry experts and voted third by the readers of USA Today, shows the longevity this special place has,” said Chad Linebaugh, President & General Manager. “It’s a testament to our culinary team to be able to maintain that kind of relevance in the food & beverage industry, where often new establishments get all the press.” The OwlBar is equally rich in history, dating back to the Butch Cassidy outlaw days, that has stood the test of time by blending history with a dynamic menu and cocktail program.

Sundance was founded in 1969 by Robert Redford, and the Tree Room opened its doors a year later, built around a pine tree, which remains the focal point of the dining room. The menu at the Tree Room offers fresh, seasonal ingredients with a focus on mountain cuisine. The space is designed to highlight Native American art and artifacts from Redford’s personal collection.

The Owl Bar, originally a hangout of Butch Cassidy and the Wild Bunch in Thermopolis, Wyoming, was acquired, relocated, and restored at Sundance in the mid-1980s. The bar is adorned by posters and memorabilia from the film “Butch Cassidy & The Sundance Kid,” in which Redford starred in 1969.

In the past year, the Tree Room received a Wine Spectator Award of Excellence, and The Owl Bar was ranked as a top bar by Men’s Journal. Sundance Spa was also recognized by Vogue Magazine as a Top 100 global spa destination.
