Kid’s Camp

The Sundance Nature Center’s summer camps are especially designed with three ideas in mind: having fun, spending as much time outdoors as possible, and learning about the spectacular environment of Sundance and Mount Timpanogos.

 

Every Monday through Friday, from June through August, we’ll focus on a different aspect of the natural world of the North Fork Canyon. From water to wldlife, each theme is exciting and allows kids to participate in fun, hands-on learning experiences. All camps include combinations of field studies and creative projects.

• $180 for five days

Art Shack

Make a work of art and bring it home with you!

 

Children’s Art Classes: Beading, Pottery, and Printmaking

$40 per person for beading

$60 per person for pottery and printmaking

 

Free art time available.  Markers, crayons, paint, and paper provided.  Adult must accompany children.

 

Adult Art Classes: Pottery or Silversmithing Jewelry classes

Ages 8 and above may join
Available daily at 10:00am, 1:00pm, and 3:00pm

Nature Center

Arts and Crafts

Self guided, hands-on learning activities available during Nature Center hours.

 

Naturalist-led hikes

Hikes can be scheduled anytime through the Nature Center. 24-hours notice requested.
$60 per hour.

 

Ski and Snowboard School

Our Sundance instructors are specifically trained to meet the needs of today’s children. We pride ourselves on providing an enjoyable and safe experience on our mountain playground.

 

Sundance requires leashes and/or ski brakes on all snowboards and skis

 

Skiers

Ski lessons available for children ages 6-12.

$70 price includes a full day pass.

• Morning: 10am-12:30pm
• Afternoon: 1:30pm-4pm

 

Snowboarders

Snowboarding group lessons are offered for children ages 7-12.

 

• Morning*: 10am-2:30pm $70

• Afternoon*: 1:30pm-4:00pm $70

• Full-day Lesson*: 10am-4:00pm $115

 

* Morning: Includes instruction and all day lift pass.
* Afternoon: Includes instruction and all day lift pass.
* Full Day Lesson: Includes instruction and full-day lift pass.  Full Day Lessons are 5 hour lessons with a morning (10:00am to 12:30pm) and afternoon (1:30pm to 4:00pm) session.  The child must be 6 years old for a full day ski lesson and 7 years old for a full day snowboard lesson.  Lunch is not included in full-day lessons.

 

Wild Bunch-Specialty Group

Lessons for children ages 4-5.
$95 per lesson
Class sign-up must be completed by 9:45am or 1:15pm
Reservations are required for Wild Bunch and private lessons.

Additional Activities

Fishing

Both Fly Fishing and boat fishing can be a family adventure. Fly Fishing is appropriate for ages 8 and up. Boat fishing can be enjoyed at any age. To book your trip contact the concierge, ext 6000.

 

Train Rides

Get on board for breathtaking scenery, an opportunity to see nature up close, and a time to unwind on a relaxing 3-hour ride. The train departs from the Heber Valley Railroad Station, which is located in the town of Heber; 25 minutes away from Sundance. Contact the concierge desk for more information, ext. 6000.

 

Barnyard Horse Rides

Visit the Sundance Stables with your little cowboy or cowgirl for a 20 minute horse ride. Appropriate for children ages 1-8. Please contact the concierge at extension 6000 or the stables at extension 4170 for more information. (Trail rides available for ages 8 and up.)

 

Kid’s Spa Menu

The Spa at Sundance offers a Younger Set Menu for kids ages 9-15. All children must be accompanied by an adult. For reservations call the spa at 801.223.4270.
