Tim Rencher
Tim Rencher, a Utah native, specializes in pottery. It took only once, working at a pottery wheel to be hooked and a passion was born. Tim finds inspiration in the local landscape and wildlife for his award winning work. Whether pit fired, classic shaped, utilitarian or decorative, his use of subtle glazing and often carving into the surface of the piece gives his work a distinctive style.
As a current instructor and exhibiting artist on staff at the Sundance Resort, Tim can be found helping others discover the joy of working with clay and finding the artist within. Outside of his work, Tim enjoys racing motorcycles, deep powder skiing, and the occasional round of golf.
Mark Ware
Mark Ware likes the simplicity of working with clay. In the fall of 1997, Mark found himself in a classroom squeezing and poking a small lump of clay, examining the impressions his fingers left behind. This simplest of interactions opened the door to a process that has offered him endless challenges and surprises.
Mark found he could transfer much of his energy and feelings right into the clay, and feel the reward of looking at a finished piece he had given form, character, meaning, and a piece of himself. The technical demands of the process have reinforced in his life the principles of patience, perseverance, and planning.
In 2005, Mark obtained a BA in Art with an emphasis in ceramics from Brigham Young University.
