Lisa Gardner
Lisa Gardner, a painting instructor at Sundance, notices beauty all around her. Having received a Bachelors of Art from Brigham Young in 1976, Lisa works in both oil and watercolor finding both rewarding in their texture and technique. She is fascinated by color and has been inspired by great artists of Utah and from around the world that explore the world of color. She resides in Heber, Utah where she teaches art and has had work shown throughout the state.
Braden Burgon
Braden Burgon is a Utah native and specializes in landscape painting. Inspiration for his work comes both from his Wasatch home and extensive study and travel in Scandinavia. His award winning work highlights the intricate interplay of color, light and shade and has been featured in prominent shows across the state. Braden seeks to convey in his work a celebration of and reverence for the tonal subtleties found in both alpine and pastoral scenes. Art has always been a passion for Braden and he finds that Sundance offers an ideal location for studying stunning views in both oil and watercolor.
Oliver Zenger
I was born in Salt Lake City, Utah and currently
live in Orem, Utah which is a town near where
the Sundance Resort is located. I have always had
a passion for art, beginning with collecting comic
books when I was young to my continued interest
in drawing, painting and sculpting. I currently study
graphic design locally and have over the years
studied many art mediums. I am a perfectionist
and love putting extra effort and patience into
my work even if it takes many hours to complete.
The quality of the finished piece always makes
the effort worth it.
Katie Smurthwaite
Katie Smurthwaite is an artist from Connecticut who now lives in Provo, Utah. Her love of painting began in her youth as she attended painting classes with her mother, also a painter. She has studied in Boston, Massachusetts, California and is now finishing up a BFA at Brigham Young University. She works in multiple mediums including acrylics, water color and oils. She enjoys the special characteristics inherent to each type of paint; the unpredictability and movement of water color, the versatility, thickness and texture of oils, and the strength and brightness of acrylics. She especially enjoys teaching and sharing this passion with others.
Joy McManaman
Joy is an artist from Washington, D.C., and now lives in Park City, Utah. Joy began painting, drawing, and making scroll saw wood crafts as a child. Joy is particularly interested in capturing peaceful mood. She creates luminous effects by layering acrylic paint.
